Los Ranchitos Updates Their CWPP
Through the hard work of WAP, Upper Pine River Protection District, and Ambassadors Brent Leisure and Gary Karner, the Los Ranchitos CWPP got a much needed update from its 2012 version. A CWPP is a Community Wide Protection Plan, and it helps promote community preparedness and wildfire mitigation strategies in counties and communities. Among the many benefits of an up-to-date CWPP is the ability to participate in establishment of fuels treatment priorities for both federal and non-federal lands in surrounding communities, as well as more opportunities for cost-sharing of community-based fuels treatments. A CWPP is a living document that establishes that a community is aware of wildfire and its risks, and is prepared to live with wildfire, in the safest way possible. Read the CWPP below, and check out the many other CWPPs across the state of Colorado. Interested in updating/establishing the CWPP in your community?
